Along the Tolminka Valley
The Javorca church, First World War bunkers and a herd of philosophical cows on the edge of Triglav National Park.
Despite the rainy season we managed to catch a sunny day and explore – superficially, but with great pleasure – part of the Tolminka valley, right on the edge of Triglav National Park, not far from Tolmin. Two (acoustically) interesting targets were on our minds in advance: the Javorca church and the nearby bunkers from the First World War.
On arrival, though, we quickly realised that the day was best suited above all for lounging about and philosophising with the cows on a wide pasture surrounded by mountains. So mostly we lounged about and philosophised with the cows. We will be back.
